Connecting WhatsApp Business APP (Mobile App) Coexistence
In this guide, we will demonstrate how you can connect your existing WhatsApp Business App (Mobile) to Picky Assist without deleting your number from WhatsApp and continue using almost all the features you have been using through your WhatsApp Mobile App, like WhatsApp Calling, WhatsApp Groups, Community,y etc
Important Note for WhatsApp Web Automation Users
For those using WhatsApp Web Automation services, we recommend disconnecting your number and reconnecting via the WhatsApp Co-existence feature, either through the WhatsApp Managed Channel or the WhatsApp Cloud Channel. This is an official solution provided by WhatsApp and will not experience the same downtime issues as WhatsApp Web Automation. WhatsApp messaging charges & messaging rules applies
What is WhatsApp Coexistence?
WhatsApp Coexistence is an update rolled out by Meta. It enables a business to run both the WhatsApp Business App and the WhatsApp Business Platform (API) using the same phone number. Business owners and support teams can continue chatting directly through the app while simultaneously running automated messages, templates, and broadcasts via their CRM or API tools.
Importantly, chat history, contacts and recent conversations are synced across both environments so nothing gets lost maintaining context, human touch and automation all in one setup without needing to provision a new number.
This feature was introduced by WhatsApp in April 2025 as a beta in a few countries. As of October 2025, it is available in almost all countries, except for a few listed below.
What Problem does WhatsApp Coexistence Solve?
Moving from the mobile app to the API used to force a cutover: numbers changed, conversations were lost and teams lost context. Coexistence removes that migration friction by mirroring messages and syncing recent chat history so customer continuity is preserved while businesses scale with automated templates, broadcasts and CRM workflows.
How WhatsApp Coexistence Works?
With Meta’s Embedded Signup, you can link your existing WhatsApp Business App number to the Cloud API by simply scanning a QR code and authorizing access. Once enabled, both platforms work in parallel:
Simultaneous Use: Continue using the WhatsApp Business App on your phone for real-time, manual conversations while the API handles automation, chatbots, bulk campaigns, and CRM workflows.
Single Number: No need to delete or change your current WhatsApp Business number; the same number powers both the app and the API.
Seamless Synchronization: Messages sent or received through either platform are automatically synced, so the full conversation history remains visible and consistent (last 180 days with no media files sync)
Data Continuity: Existing contacts, chats, and business information are preserved, with the ability to sync the last 6 months of past conversations to avoid losing valuable context.
Not all Business Apps are eligible for Co-existence: Meta also validates factors like your number’s country code, account age, and messaging quality before enabling coexistence to ensure smooth functioning.

Credit allocation not allowed., The WhatsApp Business account passed in already has a payment method and the entereed currency is different from the one already set for this WABA. Please try again wtih different input

This error mostly occurs when you're using the Picky Assist Managed WhatsApp service, where Picky Assist has set the base currency as INR, but your Business Manager is set to a different currency. This typically happens if you have direct billing with WhatsApp and your billing currency is not INR — for example, if you've linked a credit card in Meta Business Suite for WhatsApp messaging charges in a non-INR currency.
In such cases, the best solution is to switch to the WhatsApp Cloud solution. This allows you to continue using the same credit card linked to Meta, and all WhatsApp messaging charges will be billed directly by WhatsApp to your linked credit card.
