Warning: Sending a Broadcast with a Yellow or Red Quality Template

Overview

When you send a broadcast using a WhatsApp message template with a Yellow or Red quality rating, Picky Assist displays a warning to help you make an informed decision before sending.

This is a warning only. Your broadcast can still be sent.

However, continued use of low-quality templates may lead to additional negative customer feedback, which can affect both the template and your WhatsApp phone number.

Why Am I Seeing This Warning?

Meta has identified that the selected template has received negative customer feedback.

Common reasons include:

  • Customers blocking or reporting messages.

  • Sending messages that recipients did not expect.

  • Overly promotional or repetitive content.

  • Messaging customers who have not opted in.

Can I Still Send the Broadcast?

Yes, the warning does not prevent you from sending your broadcast. It is intended to help you avoid further reductions in template quality or phone number quality.

Before proceeding, review the following:

1.Review the Template

Ensure the message:

  • Is relevant to your audience.

  • Provides clear value.

  • Matches the selected template category.

  • Does not contain unnecessary promotional content.

2.Verify Customer Opt-Ins

Only send broadcasts to customers who have explicitly agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from your business.

3.Review Your Audience

Consider excluding:

  • Inactive customers.

  • Contacts who have not recently interacted with your business.

  • Recipients who are unlikely to find the message relevant.

4.Monitor Your Account Health

Regularly check the quality of your number in picky assist account. (Check your quality of your number in Picky Assist - link to quality referral)

  • Message Templates – to monitor template quality.

  • Phone Numbers – to monitor your phone number quality rating.

Best Practices

To maintain healthy messaging performance:

  • Send relevant and personalized messages.

  • Avoid excessive messaging frequency.

  • Use the correct template category.

  • Regularly update templates that receive negative feedback.

  • Test new messaging strategies with a smaller audience before sending large broadcasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this warning affect message delivery?

No. Messages can still be delivered successfully. However, continued negative feedback may eventually result in template pauses, reduced phone number quality, or messaging restrictions imposed by Meta.

Should I stop using this template?

Not necessarily. Review the template content and your target audience. If the template continues to receive negative feedback, consider updating or replacing it before future broadcasts.

Will the template quality improve ?

Yes, whatsApp template quality ratings can improve gradually if you maintain high-quality messaging for a continuous period. The system monitors how your messages are received in a rolling 24-hour window to determine the rating.

Is it a good idea to abandon templates with low quality and create a new ?

Sometimes, yes—but creating a new template is not a guaranteed solution.

If a WhatsApp message template has received a Low Quality rating, creating a new template with different wording may temporarily improve performance. However, if the underlying issue remains unchanged, the new template is also likely to receive a low quality rating over time.

Instead of simply replacing the template, it's important to identify why customers are reporting or negatively responding to your messages.

Common reasons include:

  • Irrelevant messages: Customers receive messages they did not expect or are not interested in.

  • Lack of user consent: Messages are sent to users who have not provided proper opt-in.

  • High messaging frequency: Customers receive too many promotional messages in a short period.

  • Misleading or unclear content: The message does not match the customer's expectations or contains confusing information.

  • Poor audience targeting: Messages are sent to a broad audience instead of users who are likely to find them relevant.

  • Low-value content: Repetitive promotions or messages that do not provide useful information can lead to negative feedback.
